The color of the diamond is the most considered matter that experts look in choosing a diamond. The color of the diamond is measured with the help of the alphabetical scale. They are measure from D-Z in which D is colorless and Z is light yellow in color. If the color of the diamond goes beyond Z then the diamond is said to be exotic.

Since the color difference between the diamonds are so faint it is impossible for the untrained person to grade the diamond. The expert gemologists usually place the diamond that has to be grated in the white back and placing the grated diamond next to it.

The color rating of the diamond tells the value of the diamond. If the color of the diamond increases then the price of the diamond decreases.

All the diamonds have significant characteristic but most them are invisible to the naked eyes. Therefore, the experts use a 10X magnifying loupe to examine them. This process is called as inclusion.
